Youth Empowerment for HIV/AIDS Prevention

SITUATION

Makassar, as a major urban center in Eastern Indonesia, faced rising HIV/AIDS prevalence among youth populations. Yayasan Permata Hati, funded by PSI/FHI360, implemented a Youth Empowerment Program aimed at HIV/AIDS prevention through education and community engagement. The program needed systematic monitoring, evaluation tools, and culturally appropriate information materials.

TASK

As Team Coordinator, I was responsible for monitoring the Youth Empowerment Program across different areas of Makassar, creating M&E tools, developing IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials about addiction and HIV/AIDS, and providing program improvement recommendations.

ACTION

• Monitored Youth Empowerment Program implementation across different areas of Makassar
• Created monitoring and evaluation tools and analyzed M&E information for program improvement
• Developed IEC materials about addiction and HIV/AIDS for youth audiences
• Reviewed program performance and progress, providing timely reports to Program Manager
• Provided data-driven recommendations for program enhancement and scaling

RESULT
